Shreveport-based small business honored as a 2021 Louisiana Growth Leader
Shreveport, La. – Louisiana Economic Development honored 10 companies as 2021 Louisiana Growth Leaders on April 30th in a program featuring Gov. John Bel Edwards and LED Secretary Don Pierson. CyberReef, a portfolio company of BRF’s Entrepreneurial Accelerator Program (EAP), was one of the 10 companies.
Louisiana Growth Leaders are selected by economic development professionals from across the state. A panel evaluates applications on growth, strategy, innovation, leadership, culture, philanthropy and intangibles.
Founded in 2012, CyberReef provides mobile cybersecurity for businesses, governments, and educational institutes. The company is known for the first patented cloud-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) mobile data bandwidth management and private networking solution. CyberReef provides various services, including, Bandwidth Manager for mobile data control, Private Networking Plus for end-to-end secure networking, UptimePlus for unlimited wireless failover for business, and Kids Internet Defense Shield for education. These services have protected customers from cyberattacks while saving an average of 50-70 percent in data usage, resulting in millions of dollars of savings.
In the last year, CyberReef has experienced rapid growth. They are working with over 500 school districts to provide website filtering for online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. The company won four state level contracts, including Louisiana, to protect K-12 students while on the Internet.
CyberReef is able to compete and excel in the cybersecurity market because their services are cloud-based, allowing the company to be both effective and efficient in delivering cyber protection for mobile users.
EAP serves as the region’s startup accelerator and small business resource, analyzing the viability of ideas and products, matching entrepreneurs with informed investors and other funding opportunities and nurturing them through the critical steps toward market. EAP provides a suite of services to build sustainable and profitable companies in North Louisiana. EAP, through NorLEAP, has expanded its services across 21 North Louisiana parishes and spearheads North Louisiana university pitch competitions.
