A New Resource for Founders at Every Stage
One of the most consistent challenges EAP founders face — regardless of industry or stage — is funding. How do you fund a business when you're pre-revenue? When do you seek outside investment versus bootstrapping? What do investors actually look for? How do you build a financial model that holds up under scrutiny?
The new "How to Fund Your Business" workshop series, launched in partnership with the Launch Network and supported by the LWCC Foundation, is designed to answer those questions in a practical, hands-on format.
What the Series Covers
The four-session workshop series includes:
- Session 1 — The Funding Landscape: An overview of funding options for early-stage businesses, including bootstrapping, friends and family, grants, CDFIs, angel investors, and venture capital.
- Session 2 — Building Your Financial Model: A hands-on workshop where participants build a simple financial model for their business, including revenue projections, cost structure, and cash flow.
- Session 3 — What Investors Look For: A candid conversation with regional investors about what they look for in a pitch, what kills deals, and how to position your business for outside capital.
- Session 4 — The Pitch Workshop: Participants prepare and deliver a funding pitch in front of a panel of mentors and investors who provide real-time feedback.
Who Should Attend
The workshop series is open to any founder at any stage of business development. Whether you're pre-revenue and trying to figure out how to fund your first year, or you're generating revenue and considering your first outside raise, this series is designed to meet you where you are.
How to Register
The series will run over four consecutive weeks. Space is limited to 25 participants per cohort to ensure a hands-on experience. Registration is free for EAP program participants and available at a nominal cost for community members. Visit the EAP events page for registration details and upcoming dates.
