A Record Application Cycle
The Entrepreneurial Accelerator Program has received its largest ever pool of applications for the 2026 cohort — a milestone that reflects both the program's growing reputation and the expanding entrepreneurial energy across North Louisiana.
Applications increased significantly year over year, with submissions coming from a broader geographic range and a more diverse set of industries than in previous cycles. For the first time, the majority of applicants came through word-of-mouth referrals from EAP alumni rather than through formal marketing channels.
Who Is Applying
The 2026 applicant pool includes founders from industries including health technology, food and agriculture, professional services, construction technology, and creative industries. The geographic spread has also grown, with a meaningful increase in applications from founders outside the Shreveport-Bossier City metro area.
"We're seeing people apply from communities that haven't historically had strong representation in the program," said an EAP team member. "That's a sign that the ecosystem is maturing and that our reach is expanding."
What This Means for Selection
The increased volume has made the 2026 selection process the most competitive in the program's history. EAP's selection committee reviews applications based on the founder's commitment, the clarity of the business opportunity, and the potential for the program's resources to meaningfully accelerate growth.
Founders who were not selected for the 2026 cohort are encouraged to apply again in future cycles and to engage with EAP's community programming in the meantime, including 1 Million Cups, workshop series, and the Launch Network partnership.
Applications for 2027 Open in Early Fall
EAP will open applications for the 2027 cohort in the fall of 2026. Founders interested in applying are encouraged to attend upcoming community events to learn more about the program and connect with current and former participants.
